Terms of sale

Last updated: 31 October 2026

Article 1. Seller

The products offered on communist-universe.com are sold by:

  • Trading name: Communist Universe
  • Operated by: Maxime Perrin, sole trader (entrepreneur individuel, EI)
  • Address: 55 Rue Grignan, 13006 Marseille, France
  • SIREN (French company number): 947 636 296
  • SIRET: 947 636 296 00040
  • EU VAT number: FR17947636296
  • Email: contact@communist-universe.com

Article 2. Scope

These terms of sale apply to all orders placed on communist-universe.com by consumers, whatever their country of residence. They can be viewed at any time on the website and can be saved or printed.

Placing an order implies acceptance of these terms. The terms that apply are those in force on the date of your order. Use of the website is also governed by our terms of service.

Article 3. Products

The essential characteristics of each product (material, dimensions, sizes, care) are shown on its product page. Photographs are as faithful as possible but are not contractual.

Products are offered while stocks last. If a product becomes unavailable after you have ordered it, we will inform you without delay and refund you within 14 days of payment at the latest.

Article 4. Prices

Prices include all taxes. Depending on your country, they may be displayed and paid in your local currency (euro, pound sterling, US dollar, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar or yen): the amount charged is the one shown at checkout. Your bank may charge currency conversion fees.

Delivery is free unless otherwise stated before you confirm your order.

For deliveries outside the European Union, for example to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States, Canada or Australia, customs duties, local taxes or clearance fees may be charged when the parcel arrives. They are set by the authorities of the destination country and are payable by the recipient.

Products are invoiced at the price in force when the order is confirmed. In the event of an obvious pricing error (for example an absurdly low price), we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

Article 5. Ordering

To order, add products to your basket, enter your details and delivery address, choose a payment method and confirm your order. Before confirming, you can check the details and total price of your order and correct any mistakes.

Confirming your order means that you accept these terms and that the contract is concluded. You will then receive a confirmation email summarising your order.

We may refuse or cancel an order if there is an existing dispute with the customer, a suspicion of fraud or an abnormal order.

Article 6. Payment

Payment is due when you place your order. You can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Cartes Bancaires), PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay, Klarna or other methods available in your country, such as Bancontact.

Payments are processed securely by Shopify and our payment providers: we never have access to your full card details. If you choose to pay in instalments or later, for example with Klarna, that provider's terms also apply.

Article 7. Delivery

We deliver to France and to most countries in the world. Available countries are shown when you enter your delivery address. Orders are shipped within 24 working hours of payment confirmation, and delivery times are set out in our shipping policy.

Unless a different time is stated when you order, products are delivered no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded. If delivery is late, you can ask us to deliver within a reasonable additional period and, failing that, terminate the contract in writing and obtain a refund of the sums paid (Articles L.216-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code).

The risk of loss or damage passes to you when you, or a third party designated by you, take physical possession of the products. We recommend that you check your parcel on receipt and report any problem to contact@communist-universe.com.

Article 8. Right of withdrawal

You have 14 days from receipt of your order to withdraw from the contract, without giving any reason and without any penalty.

To exercise this right, inform us of your decision before the deadline by means of a clear statement: by email to contact@communist-universe.com, using our online withdrawal form or using the model form in the appendix.

You must then send the products back to us within 14 days of informing us of your decision. We will send you the return address by email. Return shipping costs are your responsibility.

We will refund all payments received, including the initial delivery costs, within 14 days of being informed of your decision. We may withhold the refund until we have received the products or until you have supplied proof of having sent them back, whichever is earlier. The refund is made using the payment method used for the order, at no cost to you.

You may be held liable for any diminished value of the products resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, for example a garment that has been worn, washed or had its labels removed.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised (Article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code). Practical details are set out in our refund policy.

Article 9. Legal guarantees

In addition to the right of withdrawal, all our products are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity and the legal guarantee against hidden defects provided for by French law.

The consumer has two years from delivery of the goods to obtain the application of the legal guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. During this period, the consumer only needs to establish the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date on which it appeared.

The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the goods repaired or replaced within thirty days of the request, free of charge and without major inconvenience. If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the initial guarantee is extended by six months. If the consumer requests a repair but the seller imposes a replacement, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for two years from the date of replacement.

The consumer may obtain a price reduction while keeping the goods, or terminate the contract and obtain a full refund in exchange for returning the goods, if:

  1. the seller refuses to repair or replace the goods;
  2. the repair or replacement takes place after more than thirty days;
  3. the repair or replacement causes major inconvenience to the consumer, in particular where the consumer permanently bears the cost of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the cost of installing the repaired or replacement goods;
  4. the lack of conformity persists despite the seller's unsuccessful attempt to remedy it.

The consumer is also entitled to a price reduction or to terminate the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. In that case, the consumer does not have to request repair or replacement first. The consumer is not entitled to terminate the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.

Any period during which the goods are unavailable for repair or replacement suspends the remaining guarantee period until the repaired goods are delivered. These rights result from Articles L.217-1 to L.217-32 of the French Consumer Code.

A seller who obstructs the legal guarantee of conformity in bad faith is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover (Article L.241-5 of the French Consumer Code).

The consumer is also covered by the legal guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for two years from the discovery of the defect. This guarantee entitles the consumer to a price reduction if the goods are kept, or to a full refund in exchange for returning the goods.

To claim under these guarantees, email us at contact@communist-universe.com with your order number and photos of the defect. Return costs for non-conforming products are paid by us.

These guarantees do not affect any additional statutory rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.

Article 10. Liability

We cannot be held liable where failure to perform the contract is attributable to the buyer, to the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party or to force majeure. Nor can we be held liable for the inconveniences inherent in using the Internet, such as a service interruption.

Article 11. Personal data

The data collected when you order is necessary to process and deliver it. It is processed in accordance with our privacy policy, which explains your rights and how to exercise them.

With your consent, we may send you our offers by email or text message. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link or instructions provided in each message.

If you live in France and do not wish to receive telemarketing calls, you can register free of charge on the Bloctel opt-out list (www.bloctel.gouv.fr).

Article 12. Intellectual property

The texts, photographs, visuals and logos on the website are protected by intellectual property law. Reproducing them without prior written permission is prohibited. Buying a product does not confer any rights over this content.

Article 13. Customer service and complaints

For any question or complaint, contact us by email at contact@communist-universe.com, through our contact page or by post at 55 Rue Grignan, 13006 Marseille, France.

Article 14. Mediation

In the event of a dispute, please first send us a written complaint so that we can find an amicable solution. If no agreement is reached, you can refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator, under the conditions set out in Articles L.611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, or use any other alternative dispute resolution method.

If you live in another country of the European Union, you can also contact the European Consumer Centre in your country (ECC-Net) for free help with a cross-border dispute.

Article 15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law. If you live in another country, this choice does not deprive you of the protection afforded to you by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable solution, you may bring proceedings, at your choice, before one of the courts with territorial jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure or before the court of the place where you lived when the contract was concluded or the harmful event occurred. If you live outside France, you may also bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence where its law allows.

Article 16. Language

These terms are written in French and translated into other languages for your information. In the event of a discrepancy, the French version prevails, subject to the mandatory provisions of your country of residence.
